1965, San Fernando Valley. Johnny is thirteen, his father travels a lot and his mother lives in total ignorance. When Johnny's dog Honeycomb suddenly dies and his father shows no mercy, he grabs his bike and leaves. A hippie couple who nearly knocks him over gives him a lift and they feed him weed and wine. They then drop him off completely under the influence at a bus stop and there he is noticed by a police officer...
