The Arc plot

A Baltimore shipyard welder, a former Vietnam veteran tired of all the protests, refuses to join a strike. He loses his job because of this; then his wife. He then does what anyone would like to do: he takes the car and lubricates it. On his journey through Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas and Montana, he encounters junkies, displaced persons, murderers, weaklings, women who cling to him and women who want to keep him.
