The Albanian Virgin plot
Deep in the Albanian mountains, Luana lives with her family, in a village that values tradition. She grows up with her best friend Agim, the son of communists. Gradually, their friendship evolves into early love, but as the daughter of a prominent village leader, Luana cannot choose who to marry. When she meets the man her family envisions, it becomes increasingly clear that as a woman she is only expected to obey. Luana doesn't like the role of a second-class citizen and swears not to get married. She subsequently decides to go through life as a man and to be the head of the family herself.

The film is slow at times, especially towards the end, but I didn't want to miss a second of it. It looked breathtakingly beautiful and the music score is very good. The movie made me angry at all those horrible men with their stupid traditions that literally destroy women's lives. A very beautiful, impressive film.

Peerless.
We've seen more Vendetta films, Corsica, Sicily..., but this one really stands out.
It is not surprising that everything has its origins in the fact that even in Albania at that time a woman's choice or word did not count.
Very open, natural, and smoothly filmed. Sensational but gripping and captivating until the very end.
