Sweet Nothing in My Ear plot

Dan and Laura Miller are happily married and want the best for their 8-year-old son Adam, who has been deaf for 4 years. Then the doctor tells the couple that there is a new procedure that would allow Adam to hear again. Laura is deaf herself, but does not consider his deafness to be a handicap. She doesn't want surgery because she thinks Adam would think there's something wrong with him. Dan can hear and is considering surgery because he misses talking and listening to his son.
