Naive college student Lois Marsh, from a small town in the United States, becomes pregnant during her graduation party from high school. Lois doesn't dare tell her mother this. Her boyfriend wants to marry her, but he is killed in a traffic accident. Desperate Lois has an abortion, but something goes wrong. She contacts the doctor James Fenton.
