Soratobu Kingyo to Sekai no Himitsu plot

Midori lives with her father Youji, who made picture books. However, since Midori's mother passed away, Youji has never produced another book. One day, Youji brings home a Chinese woman named Rinrin. She becomes the stepmother to Midori, who cannot accept her as such due to cultural differences. Youji decides to make a picture book for Midori.
