Song of Surrender plot

Connecticut in 1906. Elisha Hunt, the 55-year-old curator of a small museum, marries Abigail, the 19-year-old daughter of a local farmer. Elisha is a man with an interest in culture, while Abigail is uneducated. When the rich and young Bruce Edridge appears on the scene, Abigail falls in love with him instantly. The love turns out to be mutual and Abigail faces a difficult choice between her hitherto modal life with Elisha or a luxurious life with Bruce.
