There are lost minds who call this a slow burner, but these kinds of morality dramas were already being made in Hollywood more than 100 years ago and were already old-fashioned then. Ali [Hilmi Ahiska] rebels against a large landowner [Ercan Kesal] who controls the reed trade in the remote Turkish village where Ali lives and works with his wife Aysal [Sevgi Temel] with tragic consequences that you can see coming well in advance and that are repeated twice! Full of unnecessary and unnecessarily long scenes and with a predictable climax that Agacikoglu also lets take place out of sight of the cameras. It could well be that the intention was to bore the viewer for 120 minutes before the final shot, a rainy variation on an equally old-fashioned cliché. A total waste of time, unless you are looking for something to fall asleep to quickly.
