Silk Stocking Sal plot

Sal, a member of an underworld gang, is surprised while robbing a safe in a house by the owner, Bob Cooper, who falls for her story and gives her enough money to walk the straight path. She laughs at him, but her mother's compassion impresses her, so she takes a job at Bob's office. Bob's partner is murdered, and Bob is convicted and sentenced to death in the electric chair based on circumstantial evidence. Sal is so certain that Bull Reagan, the gang leader, is the murderer that she rejoins the gang.
