Silas Marner: The Weaver of Raveloe plot
England eighteenth century. Silas Marner is falsely accused of a crime and banned from the city where he lives. He goes to live in the small village of Raveloe and goes through life as a people-hating hermit. As a weaver he builds up a nice capital, but one day all his money is stolen. He sees no reason to continue living, but then a baby is assigned to him, the orphaned girl Eppie. She brings joy back into his life. He raises her, but then her real father turns out not to be far away.
