About half a million Jews live in the Warsaw Ghetto in 1942, including 200 orphans who are cared for by the self-sacrificing physician Henryk Goldszmit, better known as Janusz Korczak. Under extremely difficult circumstances, doctor Korczak and his sister Stefa manage to ensure the survival of the children. But the sudden order from the SS to leave the ghetto causes fear and panic among the residents.
