Shrink plot

"The Doctor is Out"

Henry Carter (Kevin Spacey) is a celebrity psychiatrist with a wide variety of clients, from an insecure young writer to a cop with obsessive compulsions and an actress with vague plans for the future. His own life is not running smoothly either. He takes on a pro bono project for the first time and decides to treat a traumatized teenage girl. She is not the usual Hollywood Hills teenager, but she does have a great love for the film world, which Henry is so tired of.

It started off pretty decent but as the problems progressed it became clear that we are dealing with just any number of human lives that happen to connect with each other. I would have preferred Henry to stay in the center instead of half-switching between different stories, where there is only occasional fun scene. It's a vague idea and the director seems to have gotten too involved in the supporting roles, leaving us with a mixed bag. Add to that the melodramatic music and it becomes completely clear that as a siren drama it simply failed.

Pretty confused start, to which the hand-held camera is no stranger.

Afterwards it flows into each other a bit more and the stories are distinguishable, but outside the outline of the Hollywood world, not alien to drugs, alcohol, infidelity, psychological problems, jealousy and lack of content, the film could not appeal to me, possibly also because I didn't find any really credible characters in it anyway.

Tried this one too, but was less impressed. Despite the cast Kevin Spacey and a supporting role for Robin Williams, but I found the story a little less. Quite a heavy story.

Well, less my thing.
