Schicksal aus Zweiter Hand plot
The degenerate Michael Scholz works as fortune-teller Sylvio Silvestro at a fair, when he is approached by an old acquaintance. This encounter forces him to go back to his past when he was a simple man happily married to Irene, whose family is rich. When he consults the fortune-teller Professor Sapis one day, he is told that he will lose his wife. Afraid that the prediction will come true, he changes his life, but not for the better. When he wrongly suspects Irene of cheating on him, he takes a drastic decision.
