Salty O'Rourke plot
"He's the King of the Gamblers!"
Gambler Salty O'Rourke is still in debt to Doc Baxter. Salty and his buddy Smitty have another month to pay in arrears, but they themselves are short of money. With what they have left, they buy a cheap racehorse and hire officially rejected jockey Johnny Cates. Only Johnny can ride this horse well and he uses his older brother's birth data to compete in horse races. This deception seems to work, until Johnny falls in love with his attractive trainer Barbara Brooks. Unfortunately, Salty is also in love with Barbara and to get rid of him, Johnny therefore considers quitting the races.
