Laura has just married the older Alec when he has to go abroad on business. While Alec is traveling, Laura stays with friends of his, where she feels very comfortable, until anonymous letters arrive and even her dog is poisoned. It seems that the strange housekeeper is involved, but then things take a different turn. It turns out that there is a woman who has set her sights on Alec and will do anything to win him over.
