Robô no Ishi plot

The year is 1910 in a small Japanese village. Goichi has a hard time, because he really wants to go to school, but his family has no money to pay for this. Even when an acquaintance is willing to pay for it for them, his proud, stern father refuses the offer. Instead, he sends Goichi as an indentured servant to an insensitive merchant and his family.
