Nora Trinell (Claudette Colbert), an elderly high school teacher, meets Dewey Roberts (Shepperd Strudwick), who is running for president. She recognizes one of her students from 1916 in Dewey Roberts and suddenly remembers all kinds of things, including Robert's relationship with Dan Hopkins (John Payne), the man she married and who has disappeared.
