Hajime Tsutsui works for an electric utility and has recently been promoted again. Then his mother gets cancer and a friend suddenly dies. He rushes to his childhood home in Izumo and reflects on his life up to that point. He decides to quit his job and fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a tram driver. His family is shocked by this drastic decision.
