Redemption of the Ghost plot

Witt Hampton escapes from prison in order to personally rectify his past mistakes. He ends up in the countryside, where he hides in the barn of a widow and her aunt. But he is discovered by Jack and Cassie, the children of the widow. In order not to be betrayed, Witt poses to the children as a ghost. A beautiful friendship quickly develops between the children and Witt. But he has a mission to fulfill.
