Qandil Mountains plot
Three men fall in love with the same woman when they are young: Nasreen, daughter of the mosque servant. She joins the Kurdish resistance and after years goes missing in the Qandil Mountains on the border of Iraq, Iran and Turkey, where an ongoing battle rages between the armies of the three countries and the Kurdish peshmergas. The men — with the fairytale names Shamal of the Prayers, Rasul of the Tears, and Ayneddin of the Daf (a drum) — go in search of her separately. During their search, they come across thousands of others – Kurds, Turks, Iranians and Arabs – who have gone missing in this war.
