Pierre plot
Pierre, a Brussels municipal clerk, lives with his mother in an old-fashioned house in a declining working-class neighbourhood. For his only entertainment, he smokes cigarettes, goes to the gymnastics club on Thursday evenings and snaps at his mother. One morning he wants to mutilate himself, but it just doesn't happen: his only hope to get rid of his frustrations is pinned on a girl from the gymnastics club. One evening, when his mother is out of the house, he invites her to his house.
