Truffaut's "Les Quatre Cents Coups" is never far away...
Johnny is not given a decent upbringing as a child and is actually pushed into adult life.
It is violating nature and it leads to situations where people who mean well for him threaten to get into serious problems, which in turn sends him into a negative spiral.
Strong film that primarily refers to the paramount importance of a solid home upbringing.
