Pedro plot
"Celebrity. Activist. Icon."
Film about the life of Pedro Zamora. He was born in 1972 in Cuba. In 1980 he fled to the United States with his family. At the age of thirteen his life changes due to the death of his mother. He is doing very well in high school. Because he gave blood to the Red Cross, it is discovered that he is HIV positive. He is then only 17 years old. He decides to spend the rest of his life as an openly gay man and to devote himself to raising the issue of AIDS in the Cuban community and beyond. His struggle has sparked the interest of President Bill Clinton and the newspapers. When he died in 1994, at the age of 22, it was front page news.
