Paolo e Francesca plot

Francesca is a novice in a monastery in a fortified town that has been besieged for three months by Gianciotto Malatesta, Lord of Rimini, who wants to consolidate his power in the province of Romagna. Paola, Gianciotto's brother, wants to explore the situation in the city. He manages to get inside the walls, but he is soon discovered. Wounded, he flees into the monastery, where he is nursed by Francesca. It doesn't take long for them to fall in love with each other. Their relationship causes quite a few problems and controversy.
