Pamfir plot
Pamfir earns his living by digging wells on the border between Ukraine and Romania. His wife Helena then works in the local veneer factory. For the eye surgery of their teenage son Nazar, they need money that they do not have. Pamfir decides to go to work abroad, but because of the lack of money he can't get his visa in order. His younger brother Viktor who is in the smuggling business offers him work in the illegal business. Pamphir agrees.
