Os Deuses e os Mortos plot
In the 1930s, an adventurer with no name or past becomes involved in the war for land and cocoa plantations in southern Brazil. He plans to overthrow the so-called 'colonel', Santana, and take his wife and money. He starts a bloody conflict in which many residents and landowners die.
