On the Sea plot
Jack has been married to Maggie for more than half his life. He works on the mussel beds in North Wales, along with his younger brother Dyfan and Dyfan's three sons. Jack always assumed his own son, Tom, would join the family business after school, but Tom's confession that he has no desire to follow in his father's footsteps creates tension within the family. These tensions are further exacerbated by the arrival of an itinerant skipper, Daniel, who reveals his feelings for Jack. In this remote, rural community, where life revolves around the church and fishing, Jack faces an impossible dilemma.
