"NO GANGSTER EVER HAD A BETTER ALIBI!"

District Attorney Jerry Bennett wages a holy war against criminals. He would give anything to put the unscrupulous criminal lawyer Clyde Corbin behind bars. Unfortunately, Corbin turns out to be too smooth a boy for Bennett. In addition, Corbin's illegal activities are too fragmented, so Bennett can't get a finger on it. At one point, Corbin temporarily leaves the legal world to be the mastermind behind car race results scams. He makes sure that the meek Pop Everett, the father of Bennett's girlfriend Carol, gets the blame.
