Nicht Fisch, Nicht Fleisch plot

Michael was adopted as a baby by a German couple. As the only Korean in the village, he is accepted, but does not feel completely at home there. His adoptive parents have always encouraged him to be open to his Korean roots. Opportunities to do so are nil in the German village. When his parents divorce, Michael moves to Berlin. He cuts off contact with his parents and seeks to join the Korean community. He meets the Korean Jin Hi who works in her father's restaurant. This opens some doors for him, but as a Korean German without any knowledge of the Korean language and traditions, he is also found there neither meat nor fish. However, Michael is determined not to let go of his newfound roots and Jin Hi.
