Nesetu Rugiu Zydejimas plot

The family of worker Antanas Petrušonis lives in Kaunas. Son Viktoras marries at an early age, only to leave to serve in the army. Daughter-in-law Deimantė, despite raising their little girl, always comes home late. After a conflict with her in-laws, she takes the child with her and moves into the apartment of her posh parents, who never approved of her marriage. The reason for the conflict; while living without a husband, Deimantė meets the engineer Leonas Raižys and they become lovers. Leonas then divorces his wife Eugenija. During a meeting with his son in the army, Antanas keeps Deimantė's affair from Viktoras, as well as Antanas' own illegitimate son Aleksius. The old Antanas is now plagued by feelings of guilt and is forced to live with the consequences.
