Nelly Was a Lady plot

Stephen Foster, the father of American music, created melodies for the whole world to sing. The most memorable are folk songs about the joys and sorrows of the people of the South. His achievements seem miraculous in that he had no musical training, and had never been to the South except for one brief visit.
