Nel Giardino delle Rose plot

A young mother reads poems to her son Claudio in a rose garden. Years later, Claudio lives like a yuppie in Milan. His mother in Naples is widowed and burdened with debts. They never see each other. As a child, Claudio once caught her in an embrace with Tramontano, the schoolteacher, and he assumes she was cheating on his father, an alcoholic. He cannot maintain a normal relationship. His mother writes him a letter and dies. Then he has to come to terms with his feelings.
