Návrat Domù plot

Lieutenant Kliment Mares returns to his homeland after fighting for the Red Army. He hopes to reunite with his family and friends, but learns that his fiancée has married another man, his mother and sister have been executed and many of his old friends have died. Defeated, he leaves to defend the Czechoslovak border. The female sergeant Stána, who secretly has a crush on him, accompanies him.
