The 15th century. During the Joseon Dynasty, the majority of the Korean population is illiterate. The people who can read and write use the Chinese script, which is difficult to master. King Sejong the Great wants to design a simple and original writing system that even farmers can use. Not knowing where to start, Sejong turns to low-born Buddhist monks with unique insights.
