Nadeje plot

Ignác Šavlíř, nicknamed Lucin, tries to roll another worker's pockets in the canteen of a large gravel pit. He is caught, beaten up and thrown into the autumn mud. He is taken in by Magdalena, a worker with a reputation as a lady of good morals, who happened to pass by. She takes him to her little house high above the garbage dump. The two outcasts begin to live together. Magdalena tries to keep Lucin on the right path, but this proves difficult.
