Nachtrit plot
Nachtrit is about the young taxi driver Dennis (Frank Lammers). When he finds himself in debt up to his neck in the hope of fulfilling his dream, he not only becomes entangled in a criminal network but also loses everything he loves. An overwhelming sense of revenge flares up in him. War in the streets of Amsterdam.

Strong film from Dutch soil. The cast is very strong overall. Jan's bodyguards have just the right heads. Film remains exciting and works towards an inevitable climax. I always think Frank Lammers is a fine actor and here too he plays very well. Highly recommended!

A good Dutch film, which I happened to see on television last week.
I have always found the news about those taxi wars from years ago interesting and this Nachtrit gives a good picture of it. I have to say that Frank Lammers is doing well here. He's getting more and more in trouble, but I certainly had sympathy for his character.
The picture that is sketched is quite fascinating, with a few strongly shot night scenes in between. It was a pity I thought the whole fuss about his brother and wife, which resulted in a love triangle, but which in turn was not very interesting.
But all in all not bad at all. Lammers in particular is convincing in a kind of role that I have never seen from him before.

I've had this one for a while and now I'm giving it a try. I wasn't really expecting this movie, but I thought it was a good movie. The story captivated me, partly because of the convincing acting performances.
Fortunately the DVD had subtitles, because it was a kind of Dutch dialect that was sometimes a bit more difficult to follow.
The playing time was good, not too long and not too short.
I bought the film for 1 euro at the time, but that doesn't make it any less worth watching.
Not a great movie, but definitely worth watching.
