My Own True Love plot

Widower Clive Heath, a documentary filmmaker during World War II, has an appointment on 'VE Day' (May 7, 1945) in London with former POW and divorcee Joan Clews at the women's barracks, where his daughter Sheila Heath is stationed. Sheila has arranged this appointment between Joan and her father, but both of them have car trouble along the way. Near the garage workshop, a drunken soldier mistakes Joan for his lover and she kisses him in memory of his deceased girlfriend. Joan then goes home with Clive and they fall in love.
