My Old Dutch plot
Sal Gratton chooses Joe Brown over Bill Sproat to be her husband. Sal and Joe get married and have a son. Bill follows Sal and Joe with anger over the years. Financially, Sal and Joe are doing very well and they give their son Herbert all the benefits of life, but he begins to gamble and waste their wealth. Herbert then leaves for another country and his parents are sent to the poorhouse. Meanwhile, Sal and Joe are still followed by Bill, who has also become rich.
