Mountains of Manhattan plot

Jerry Nolan is a boxing champion in the military. Jerry leaves the army so as not to further worry his concerned mother. Jerry takes a job as a skyscraper construction worker with the intention of making it his life's work. But then his younger brother falls ill and the medical bills start to pile up. Jerry decides to become a boxer again and win a boxing championship. But it looks like Jerry isn't going to be a professional boxer.
