Mort à l'Étage plot

On Christmas Eve, Alexandre wanders through the neighborhood where he grew up. He invades his birthplace, which has been abandoned since his mother's death. He takes stock of his life and his memories. The bitterest of these is the murder of his wife, which he is reminded of by a newspaper clipping. He is going to have dinner at a bistro. At a table close to him sits a lonely woman, Hélène.
