Mori no Gakkô plot

Near Mount Sasayama in Tanba, Masao, the third son of a dentist, grows up during World War II. He is a difficult boy, who also suffers from severe fever attacks. He calms down only in the wild around Sasayama. As the leader of his own gang, he tries to create a zoo in his own backyard. One day a new girl enters the class. Miyoko has moved from Tokyo and as a city girl has nothing in common with Masao, but also avoids the girl group led by Yasuko. However, a violent thunderstorm brings the two groups and the loner closer together.
