Mirakuru Banana plot

Sachiko Mishima is chosen to be sent to Haiti for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. At first she is delighted with this, but later shocked when it turns out that she has confused Haiti and Tahiti. In Haiti she feels lost and helpless because of all the poverty and lack of infrastructure around her. However, she soon notices that there are many lovely people in the country and when she learns that banana leaves can be used as paper, she brings artisans who specialize in making the traditional Japanese washi paper to Haiti.
