Merlin of the Crystal Cave plot

Young Merlin is a bastard in a rough Welsh court. He learns horseback riding and fighting from the slave Cerdic and science and magic from the hermit Galapas. His uncle Camlach tries to kill him, because he is afraid that the adult Merlin will try to claim the throne. When the intrigue reaches a boiling point, Merlin flees home. He is then captured by the spies of Ambrosius, who, along with his brother Uther, waits in Brittany for the right moment to invade Britain.
