Merijntje Gijzen's Jeugd plot
Social drama based on the book Het Verraad from 1936 by the socialist writer AM de Jong. In the Catholic countryside of Brabant, the friendship between Merijntje and the poacher Kruik takes a fateful turn when Kruik kills the border guard at the hands of Merijntje and also stabs his beloved Janekee.
