Ed (Peter Strauss) is physically and mentally abused by his wife Laura (Judith Light), but he is unable to talk about it. Only when Laura also physically turns against their daughter Cindy (Ashley Johnson), Ed dares to intervene. Laura is injured, after which the poor man is charged with assault.
