The film is about one of those many long and ever-changing rivers that meander through a French country. The sometimes still, sometimes rippling or wildly swirling water determines the life of all kinds of animals and people and gives food to many lusts, fears and fantasies. The water is a source of pure magic. This is done by means of three stories that intertwine in a mysterious way.
