Marco Polo: The China Mystery Revealed plot

Perhaps no land journey in human history is more famous than Marco Polo's legendary 24-year journey across Asia. But was it all a big lie? As described in his 1299 book, the itinerant Venetian merchant encountered such marvels as the "singing sand dunes" of Dunhuang, "salt mountains" in present-day Afghanistan, and the glory of Kublai Khan's Mongol court. Generations of Europeans have been fascinated by Polo's account, but in recent years some scholars have questioned its authenticity.
