Manslaughter plot
"For the rich and poor, the beautiful and plain-there's only one law! She has broken it and must pay!"
Always on the lookout for thrills and danger, wealthy Lydia Thorne (Leatrice Joy) causes the death of a motorcycle cop. Her fiancé Daniel J. O'Bannon (Thomas Meighan) defends her during the trial, but all he does is make a speech about the transition of Rome. Lydia is found guilty and ends up in jail, while Daniel sinks deeper and deeper as an alcoholic. In prison, however, Lydia repents and after she is released, she goes in search of Daniel to make a fresh start.
