Albert Whitcomb is a reporter with a troubled past who falls in love with Vera Worth, the editor of the newspaper he works for. While visiting her, he accidentally kills the owner of the newspaper. A lawsuit follows, in which he hopes for the support of Vera. However, she is only interested in saving her own skin.
