Magyar Rekviem plot

A film made on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Hungarian uprising in November 1956. The action takes place in a crowded prison cell with a motley crew awaiting the execution of their death sentence: Professor Blech, freedom fighter Cserhalmi, former officer of the security service Eperjes, army major Carrière, gypsy by descent, and three other peripheral figures. Their mutual solidarity, the fear that each of them undergoes and the distress are interspersed with flashbacks from the past.
